Well, it has been so long since I have had free time that I haven't spent napping. Here is the update:
After the last posting, I decided to apply on a whim to Jefferson City Public Schools for a math position in the middle school. I returned my completed application with the intent of it really not going anywhere. Especially after I drove it to the office and prayed that if it was in God's will then let this happen, and then went to the door and it was locked. Haha, God! So I mailed it. A friend from church, who teaches 8th grade there, gave me the advice of calling the principal and telling him of my interest. After speaking with him, he went to pull my application and couldn't find it. Again, God and his timing! I redid everything and faxed it in. The next morning he called to say they had found my application; he hadn't realized that I have duel certification, and the app. was in the English file. He offered me an interview immediately and told me that I was one of four people. I couldn't believe it. After the unbelievable interview with a team of teachers who felt like family, I was told it would be a couple of weeks before I knew anything. The next morning, they called and offered me the position, 6th grade math. It turned out that they had interviewed nine other candidates! Talk about a boost to my ego! So here I am getting ready for a new baby, and now I am also going to change jobs. Seven years, seven different positions. I hope that this is my last move, at least for a while.
Speaking of the big little brother, as we are now calling him, he is doing beautifully. All the heparin shots and variety of vitamins have done the trick, as I am now officially full term. He is growing in the 90th percentile and can come any time. If I don't go into labor before June 12, the doctor has scheduled a Cesarean for that morning. No matter what, it is unsafe for me to have a natural birth, so C-section it is, unless God has another plan. As of 35 weeks, he was estimated to weigh 7.5 pounds. I am at 37 weeks now and we do new measurements this Tuesday. Grandma and Grandpa Duryea are going to be here this Saturday to help get everything in order and interview for a job in Rolla. Everything is working out, almost too well, but I trust that this is the way it should be.
Logan and I spent last week running errands and weeding the flower bed. He has played in the pool and the sandbox. This week, I think I am going to take him to the park and anything else that I can still do. I just can't believe that I am going to have two kids! Amazing!
Yesterday, Jason and I went out for our FIVE year anniversary. We saw Wolverine and ate dinner at Applebee's (since Arris' was closed). Jason gave me a beautiful necklace with June's birthstone, Alexandrite, plus matching earrings. It changes color depending on the light and is very beautiful. Our mini-babymoon/anniversary was awesome. We just hung out like we were kid less again! Thanks Cook's (and Clardy's) for keeping Logan. It was a great time.
Now that school is out, I hope to have more time to post. I hope to keep up the baby updates for all to see! Thanks for reading!
