Welcome, Baby Erica!

I am an aunt again! This time my sister, Candace, has had a baby girl, Erica Grace. She arrived Wednesday, November 15 at 8:36. I was told that she was really cute and that she is a squeaky sleeper. Candy said that she is doing really well, but is just tired from 14 hours of labor! Erica had a little trouble in the beginning, she tried to come out facing the wrong direction, so she was a little blue upon arrival. Within minutes, though, she pinked up and began to squeak. I wish I could have been there, but apparently the new family was surrounded by other friends, family, and well wishers. What a blessing! Congratulations, Candace and Eric! And Happy Birthday, Erica! I can't wait to meet you at Thanksgiving!

One Sock and Wonders

It has been a beautiful day today. We had the windows open and Jason finished more of the bathroom. I tried to get the house clean for the week. Jason and I are actually going on a date this Tuesday, a gift from the Sisks, and I am pumped!

I have noticed Logan doesn't like wearing both socks. In most of the pictures he only has on one sock. We were eating dinner earlier and looked over to see Logan chewing on his sock that he had pulled off his foot. This kid has a foot fetish! He also belly/army crawled over to my foot while I was folding laundry and tried to chew on my toe (with the sock on, by the way). He is eating so much these days, but I don't think that toe is a first food. Hopefully it is a never food. Rachel said the other day he ate a jar of green beans, a fist sized amount of rice cereal, and 8 ounces of milk before he stopped fussing for food. Today he has squeeled and whined buu buu and duuu duuu until we'd give him more to eat. The little dude will be off and running before we know it.

Saturday, Logan and I were driving to get Melissa on our weekly grocery run to Wal-Mart when I passed a couple hanging Christmas lights on their house. I caught myself wondering why people would be putting up lights so early in the year. CRAZY ME, it is almost Thanksgiving! I can't believe that in 43 days, Logan will be celebrating his first Christmas with his cousin Erica. Where did the time go? I must go make my list... Dear Santa, I have been a really good girl this year....

Hope's Auction

Happy November!

Jason, Logan, and I went to Rolla this weekend for Hope's Auction. Our good friend Cassie is raising money to adopt a little girl, Hope, from El Salvador. It was amazing to see God at work in the community. Someone even donated $1000 to the cause!! We got a start on our Christmas gifts and ate coneys to contribute to bringing Hope home. Logan even got a new baby gate and a basket for his toys. One of the pies went for $42! What an amazing blessing. I can't wait to meet to Hope.

Logan has had a great week eating peas and now squash. In a few days we will start carrots. He likes rice cereal better than oatmeal, but his favorite is still "Dairy Queen." Mr. Wiggle Britches is now exploring his vocal range and sang over the phone the same note over and over to Nanny and Grandpa. He is anxiously awaiting the arrival of his cousin, Erica, and hopes to meet her at Thanksgiving! Hang in there, Doodle!

I am sad to say that my addiction to TV is finally over. When they announced that the writers had gone on strike, I was actually relieved that I would have less TV to catch up on. Today was a great day because I got to sleep in and clean the house. I even finished the laundry. So I am feeling a little pathetic that I haven't seen a movie in in six months, but what a joy it is to watch Logan giggle!

Stay tuned...I will have more to say and more pictures, soon!
